Motueka Community Coordinator
Our Motueka Community Coordinator supports the growing migrant community in the region, helping newcomers feel at home and connected. Based locally, she works alongside individuals and families to provide practical support, host community activities such as multicultural potluck dinners, and build relationships with schools, organisations, and service providers.
Thanks to the support of dedicated volunteers, we also run a weekly conversational ESOL class in Motueka. This relaxed and welcoming space gives people the chance to practise their English, gain confidence, and form friendships that strengthen their sense of belonging.
The Coordinator also helps organise multicultural events and gatherings, creating opportunities for people to celebrate their heritage, share food and traditions, and connect with the wider community.
Through this mahi, the Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening inclusion, wellbeing, and cultural understanding in Motueka.
